Cannoli are Italian pastries that originated on the island of Sicily and are today a staple of Sicilian cuisine. Cannoli consist of tube-shaped shells of fried pastry dough, filled with a sweet, creamy filling usually containing ricotta.
Good news is you can buy ready Cannoli shells and just worry about filling and decoration!
For 10-12 Cannoli
Fill your shells using a sac a poche with a smooth cream made with:
Chocolate drops or candied fruit (if you like)
Decorate with your favourite combination of Icing sugar, Candied cherries, Candied orange peel, ground pistacchio, chocolate!
Suggestion: Keep the ricotta cream in fridge and fill the cannoli just before serving. Chocolate coated shells preserve crunchiness longer when filled.
